Alexander also noted a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services proposed rule announced Aug. 6 that would reduce some federal Head Start requirements (staff-to-child ratios, maximum class size, developmental screening, family partnerships, nutrition and environmental health), and said a 60-day public comment period will precede any final action; he did not expect large financial impacts on the district this year.
