Residents ask for clarity on ballot language, staging and outreach for Westside station bond

During public comment a resident identified as Starkey posed four specific questions: what percentage of Kaysville's population would be affected by the bond; whether the ballot language would identify the proposed station's address; whether a staged approach could be used instead of a single large project; and whether the city would hold open houses to solicit resident input.
The mayor responded that ballot language is legally limited and, to his knowledge, will not include a specific street address. City manager Jason said the city will provide an address and additional information in other outreach materials and confirmed a public hearing in October is required by Utah law for general obligation bonds. Jason said staged approaches had been discussed previously but that tonight’s question was strictly whether to put the bond on the ballot; the council can revisit staging if voters reject the measure.
Council members agreed to ongoing open houses and communications so voters can understand projected costs and siting details before they vote.
