Dr. Meyer and Hayden presented updated health-insurance premium projections during the March 26 budget meeting.
Hayden outlined plan-by-plan costs: the family platinum-plan (Platinum Plan 2) was presented at $36,888, a 3% increase; the individual plan was listed at $14,174, also a 3% increase. They noted Medicare-primary plan costs were essentially unchanged in the numbers shown.
Board members asked whether employees can switch plans; presenters said current active members are on Platinum Plan 2 and that plan enrollment rules limit mid-year changes. Hayden said the consortium has worked to stabilize insurance costs and that recent work on the consortium administration has reduced volatility.
The figures presented will be finalized when the consortium issues formal rate notices; the business office will update the budget if final rates differ.
