Architects from Yonge & Wright told the board they are advancing conceptual plans for a December 2026 capital-improvement referendum. "We've preliminary determined that we can do a prop 1, and it looks like it's gonna be no cost tax impact, a flat project for $23,000,000 with no additional tax impact," the project executive said, noting the plan would use a portion of the district's capital reserve fund.
The firm outlined a pre-referendum schedule that includes board adoption of a scope resolution this October, a 45-day legal notice period, design work and state review next year, with construction anticipated from May 2028 through November 2029 and closeout in December 2029 if the vote passes. The presenters emphasized options and alternates to manage cost and tax impacts, and board members discussed maximum cost allowances and the importance of acting within state reimbursement windows.
