District staff opened the annual safety hearing by saying the district has updated building-level plans to comply with recent state requirements. "The biggest change as part of NYSED law in September 2025, we're required to incorporate Disha's law, which is a cardiac arrest response plan into our district wide building level safety plans," a staff member said, adding: "We submitted the plan. It was accepted. We are now in compliance with it."
The presenter also reported that standard emergency drills — lockdown and fire drills — were completed and that the workplace violence prevention plan received its annual review with no incidents or changes. Board members asked no substantive follow-ups during the hearing; the staff described the review as a routine annual submission and noted only minor language and contact updates were required.
