Grant told council pay request number 3 from EMB paving for the 25th Street reconstruction phase 2 is $64,317.20, leaving roughly $1,071,000 remaining on the contract. He reported the contractor has made good progress, the base passed inspection and with favorable weather they expect continued progress toward a projected completion in November. "This, project is hopefully, will be done by November," Grant said. Council approved the pay request by voice vote, 5-0.
Councilors asked about the original condition of the road and Grant explained additional cement stabilization was needed after testing the subgrade; he said the bid anticipated extra quantities for cement slurry stabilization to provide a longer-lasting road surface.
