Hancock County commissioners approve minutes, payroll and a series of fund transfers

The Hancock County Board of Commissioners approved routine business and a series of financial transfers at their April 16 meeting.

Commissioner Jeffrey Hunker opened the meeting at 9:30 a.m. and Commissioners William Bateson and Timothy Bechtol voted 3-0 to approve the April 14, 2026 minutes after a motion from Bateson and a second from Bechtol. The board also approved two warrant journals and payroll for staff and JFS by unanimous votes.

Assistant Clerk Christine Carrigan presented multiple resolutions involving interfund transfers and advances. Key approvals included Resolution #244-26 (transfer of $748.72 from the Housing Trust Fund to the General Fund for first-quarter fees), Resolution #245-26 (repayment of $84,214.19 from Ditch Maintenance Fund #2004 to General Fund #1001), Resolution #246-26 (advance of $11,016.67 from General Fund #1001 to Ditch Maintenance Fund #2004), Resolution #247-26 (transfer of $1,000 within the General Fund for the Data Center), Resolution #248-26 (transfer of $20,000 within Sanitary Landfill Fund #5042), Resolution #249-26 (repayment of $108,204.99 from Special Improvement Fund #4005 to General Fund #1001), and Resolution #250-26 (advance of $151,004.40 from General Fund #1001 to Special Improvement Ditch Fund #4005). Each motion was made by Commissioner William Bateson, seconded by Commissioner Timothy Bechtol, and passed 3-0.
