The ad hoc regulations committee of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority voted Sept. 16 to forward amendments to 105 KAR 1445, the regulation governing trustee elections, to the full KPPA board for approval.
Kristen, a staff presenter, told the committee the review focused on aligning the regulation with staff practice and easing operational deadlines. "The biggest changes were to the dates," she said, explaining that some time-specific provisions were not set by statute and had created a "really tight deadline on staff" during recent elections. The edits are described in the packet as minor and intended to give staff "a little more breathing room" in the election process.
Committee members raised no substantive objections. A committee member moved to approve the regulation as presented and forward it to the full board; the motion was seconded and adopted.
The forwarded package will now be considered by the entire KPPA board, which must approve regulations before they proceed to any external certification steps required by state law or executive review.
