County project near substantial completion; DOC inspection set for mid-September

A construction presenter updated the board on the LAC project and said multiple components are complete and turned over to the county. "We do have DOC inspection scheduled for September 14," the presenter said, and described the inspection as a verification that security systems are operating before final occupancy.
The presenter said Units B and C in the jail have been completed and are occupied and that Unit A remains in the last phase of work with glazing and painting to finish. He said the project team has been meeting biweekly for oversight and that site work, security railing installation, epoxy finishes in showers and other punch items are being completed ahead of final closeout and turnover.
