Public Services staff updated the council on maintenance and operations: crews completed about 4,500 linear feet of CCTV sewer inspections, hydro-jetted roughly 2,000 linear feet of sewer main, and performed membrane and UV disinfection system maintenance. The division reported eight meter replacements, 15 radio endpoint replacements, and 486 manual rereads where meters failed to read to the system.
Staff also described street work completed ahead of school, including crosswalk restriping (thermoplastic in some areas) and an attempt to extend the life of markings by pressure washing where feasible. Council members pressed staff on lingering limit lines at a Highway 86 turn pocket that are confusing drivers; Public Services said staff will consider grinding or other improvements and coordinate signage changes.
The department reported assistance at the Mayfield Lift Station for electrical repairs and ongoing materials and software troubleshooting with meter vendors; staff emphasized a cross-divisional approach to completing manual rereads and inspections.
