The Imperial City Council approved acceptance of off-site street improvements for three phases of the Monterey Park Subdivision, voting 5–0 on separate motions for Phase 72 (lots 479–483, 522–526), Phase 73 (lots 536–542), and an additional phase covering lots 543–549.
Public works staff (Mora) told the council each submittal carries a one‑year warranty from the date of final inspection and described standard post-construction follow-up, including a slurry/seal on asphalt prior to warranty expiration. Council members raised past concerns about rapid asphalt deterioration on other subdivisions; Mora said materials testing is underway and contractors have been required to return and repair sections where problems occurred.
The council’s unanimous approvals complete city acceptance actions associated with the recorded lots and start the warranty clock; staff said they will continue materials testing and inspections and require contractors to address defects prior to final acceptance.
