The township engineer (Harshman CE Group) reported a range of active projects on Nov. 14. The Canton Township Park bid was awarded to All State Fence for $30,600; the contractor has installed fence posts and is awaiting delivery of privacy slats and gates. HCEG is preparing a GP-7 permit for Miller Road culvert replacement, drafting cost estimates and preparing grant applications for State LSA, local LSA and PennDOT Multimodal funding. Other items included MS4 stream restoration work on Logpile Run/Weirich Avenue, Act 537 wastewater management planning, various subdivision reviews and coordination on the SR 844 sanitary sewer I&I project with WEWJA.
HCEG also noted work on GIS maintenance for the township and design plans and estimates prepared for a Recreation Center project tied to a Broadband Authority multipurpose community facilities grant. Several items remain in permitting and design stages and will require follow-up submissions or property-owner easements before construction.
