Engineer outlines development, road and park projects; Rex Road borings set for Feb. 14

Harshman CE Group (HCEG) submitted a detailed engineering report to the Canton Township Board of Supervisors outlining active development and infrastructure projects. The report, summarized at the Feb. 13 meeting, lists The Dales at Canton (land development submission), Brick Ridge Estates Phase 4 (preliminary subdivision conditionally approved), Running Brook (under construction), and other ongoing items.
HCEG said it prepared updated plans and cost estimates for a multisports court and parking at West Wylie Park for a DCNR grant submittal due in April. The firm also reported MS4 work at Logpile Run / Weirich Avenue is awaiting a signed landowner agreement, and that annual MS4 training still needs scheduling.
Notable near-term schedule items include geotechnical borings for the Rex Road slide, set to begin Feb. 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., and preparation of a GP-7 permit for culvert replacement on Miller Road. HCEG also noted the draft Act 537 wastewater flow projections have been shared with WEWJA and that WEWJA intends to submit a regional Act 537 plan in May 2024 (as recorded in the report). The engineering firm said it is maintaining several GIS maps for the township and is awaiting execution of a grading/permitting agreement for Washington Penn Plastics.
