At its Jan. 13 special meeting the MacArthur Park Neighborhood Council voted to remove District 3 Representative Vicenta Martinez after determining she had moved and was no longer eligible to remain on the council.
"Motion: to remove Vicenta Martinez from the MacArthur Park Neighborhood Council," moved by Margarita Lopez and seconded by José Félix Cabrera Larios, passed with eight ayes, zero nays, and no abstentions. The minutes record the procedural finding of ineligibility as the basis for the motion.
The board did not record additional deliberations in the published minutes. The removal creates an open District 3 seat the council may fill in a future action according to its bylaws and election cycle rules.
