MacArthur Park Neighborhood Council appoints district representatives and new executive officers

The MacArthur Park Neighborhood Council moved to fill vacated board seats and to install new executive officers at its Dec. 2, 2024 meeting.
Andrew Wolff stepped down from an at-large seat and was approved as the District 2 residential representative in a motion moved by Margarita Lopez and seconded by José Félix Cabrera Larios. The board recorded Ayes 10, Nays 0 and noted three absences; the motion carried. The board also appointed Casey Wong as the District 5 residential representative in a motion moved by José Félix Cabrera Larios and seconded by Gabriel Owens-Flores, recorded as Ayes 10, Nays 0, Absent 3.
In a series of officer elections the board appointed Gabriel Owens-Flores as President (moved by José Félix Cabrera Larios; second Margarita Lopez; Ayes 10, Nays 0), Mireya Valencia as Vice President (moved by Gabriel Owens-Flores; second Grace Bryant; Ayes 10, Nays 0), and Casey Wong as Executive Secretary (moved by Mireya Valencia; second Ivonnanette Machado; Ayes 10, Nays 0, Abstention 1). The board named Andrew Wolff Corresponding Secretary, Margarita Lopez Treasurer, and Grace Bryant Webmaster in separate motions that carried with recorded unanimous tallies among members present. For Parliamentarian the board recorded a split vote between José Félix Cabrera Larios (8) and Ivonnanette Machado (2); José Félix Cabrera Larios was appointed.
