The Hartsville City Council held final reading and approved ordinance 4515 to acquire a 0.27±-acre parcel (tax map parcel 0570102069) at the corner of Lewellen Avenue and Glen Acres Drive from Avian Shiv LLC to assist with stormwater management.
Staff explained the parcel had been split and that acquiring the adjacent lot would help the city manage stormwater and ditch maintenance. Staff recommended purchasing the property for about $10,000; no members of the public spoke during the hearing. A motion to approve final reading was made, seconded and the council voted to pass the ordinance.
Council did not amend the purchase terms on the floor. The acquisition is intended to provide space useful to the city's stormwater operations during storm events and for ditch maintenance.
