Board approves fire-equipment funding release, service work and agreement drafting

The Canton Township Board of Supervisors approved release of $4,002.54 in grant-award funds received from Range Resources to Busy Beaver for the purchase of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The motion to release the grant funds was made by Supervisor Richard Horner, seconded by Tom Bodnovich, and carried unanimously.
Separately, the board approved servicing a Case 621G at its 2,000-hour service interval for $4,375.76. Supervisors also voted to authorize the township solicitor to draft an agreement between Canton Township and the Canton Township Volunteer Fire Company for the use of equipment purchased with State Relief money on the new fire engine. Earlier, the board had tabled a $6,695 purchase of five air cylinders for the new fire truck; that procurement remains deferred in the minutes.
