Canton supervisors approve property sales, equipment changes and multiple ordinance advertisements

The Canton Township Board of Supervisors on April 10, 2025 approved a series of motions covering real‑estate transactions, equipment work and ordinance advertisements.
In votes that were unanimous among present supervisors (Main‑yes, Horner‑yes, Bodnovich‑absent), the board accepted a $10,000 bid from Shane Smith for parcel #120-011-02-00-0008-00 on Lacock Street and authorized the solicitor, manager and engineer to prepare sale documents for township property at 2395 Jefferson Avenue. The supervisors also approved replacement of the social‑hall NVR system at a cost of $1,800 and a $500 donation to VetPets of SWPA. Motion makers were consistently Richard Horner (mover) and Butch Main (seconder).
Separately, the board voted to advertise Ordinance 1 of 25 (amending holding‑tank regulations) and Ordinance 3 of 25 (on‑lot sewage dye testing requirements), and approved Resolution 5 of 25 adopting the sewage planning module for the Weaver property at 218 Armstrong Drive on the condition that an agreement be executed with the property owner. The board also approved a conditional release of $17,625 to Specialty Coating and Consulting for the social hall floor upon final inspection and voted to remove property insurance on Engine 4 in 30 days because Engine 1 is now in service. The meeting was continued until April 16, 2025 at 2:15 p.m.
