Tangipahoa Parish Council introduced three ordinances at the July 27 meeting and set public hearings for Aug. 10, 2026: T.P. Ordinance No. 26-24 to acquire right-of-way for the H.014340 E. Minnesota Park Road at Range Road roundabout project in Hammond; T.P. Ordinance No. 26-25 to grant a variance related to family partitions for Ashley Hines (Assessment #6556380, District 1); and T.P. Ordinance No. 26-26 amending commercial and industrial outdoor lighting regulations. Each ordinance was introduced and a public hearing date was set by roll call of present council members.
In legal matters, Mr. Cascio summarized research on forming a new drainage district at the council's request and said he will provide a more detailed email outlining proposed boundaries, parameters and publication requirements; he noted that formation would require a vote of the taxpayers of the proposed district. The meeting record does not include the detailed boundaries or next procedural steps beyond the promised follow-up email from counsel.
