The Tangipahoa Parish Council on July 27 adopted T.P. The ordinance was approved on a motion by David Vial, seconded by Strader Cieutat; the roll call recorded YEA from Sinagra, Ingraffia, Joseph, Havis, Ridgel, Mayeaux, Vial, Hyde and Cieutat (Wells absent).
Council members said the ordinance had been previously introduced and published in advance, and the adoption at the July 27 meeting concluded the ordinance's final passage. The action implements a temporary exemption limited to the parish one-cent sales tax for the specified dates; other state or local taxes are not addressed by the ordinance. The council did not record public comment on the item at the meeting.
