Keizer council selects five legislative priorities for 2027; public meetings law tops list

The council’s finalized top five — public meetings law clarity; land availability and land-use streamlining; maintaining local control of safe, modern rights-of-way; Administrative Procedures Act reform; and shared revenue/alcohol distribution — will be sent to the LOC in ranked order so LOC lobbyists can prioritize state advocacy and coordinate testimony. The mayor said the list will serve both as the council’s official positions and as guidance for staff and councilors who may appear at hearings during the session.
