MNPS highlights new bell times and thanks transportation staff

Dr. Battle said the new start and end times were developed with the board of education and the mayor's office and are aimed at improving student outcomes. Mayor Freddie O'Connell pointed to Maplewood High School as an example of the change in practice: "for high schoolers, what was 07:05 is now a 07:25 bell," he said, and added the later start supports student health and well-being.
Speakers framed the schedule adjustments as part of broader efforts — including before- and after-care expansion — intended to help families adapt to the new bell times.
