Commission approves new construction at 1300 Bessie Street with design conditions

The Fort Worth Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission unanimously approved a COA Aug. 10 for a new one-story residence at 1300 Bessie Street, case HCLC-26-185, subject to staff-recommended design conditions.
Staff said the proposed design reflects the predominant character of the streetscape but listed several conditions to ensure compatibility: smooth cement-fiber board siding with a 6-inch reveal, window placement to follow elevation drawings (including a single window at the rear right corner facing Virginia Avenue), evenly spaced front porch columns, and submission of any adjustments to Development Services prior to issuance of the COA. "The cement fiber board siding is smooth and have a 6 inch reveal," staff stated in the presentation.
No members of the public addressed this case during the hearing. A commissioner moved to approve HCLC-26-185 with the recommended staff conditions; the motion passed 8–0 by roll-call vote.
