Residents press planning commission on enforcement, short-term rentals and investor risk

"We would restrict that as every every other community that we've looked at does," Steve Chase said when asked whether ADUs could be barred from short-term vacation rental use. City staff and commissioners acknowledged limited enforcement capacity: Chase said the city lacks the budget to pursue lawsuits against property owners and currently relies on neighbor complaints and a part-time code compliance officer to respond to violations.
