Chair and committee members said the Zoning Board of Appeals continued the public hearing on Habitat for Humanity's Wood Road/1121 Route 28 South proposal to Thursday, Aug. 13, after the developer submitted additional information.
"So the ZBA continued the public hearing till this Thursday, the 13th," a committee member reported, noting that Habitat had provided homeowners association agreements and answers to questions the ZBA had raised. Committee members said they reviewed the materials online and found nothing that would conflict with the committee's prior comments on the project.
Members and the committee noted three neighbors submitted similar, apparently copied letters raising concerns primarily about sidewalk placement, vehicular access and traffic impacts. One committee member summarized neighbors' requests as asking that property access and the front face of houses orient to Route 28 and include pedestrian accommodations. The committee agreed to monitor the ZBA hearing and encouraged members to attend either in person or via Zoom.
The committee also discussed site details Habitat provided, including retention of large trees and a submittal showing the proposed shed. Committee members said they would follow up with Habitat during site-work stages to resolve landscaping and access questions before any final local approvals.
