Bertram City Council approved Ordinance 261-111825 granting a conditional use permit to Bertram Business LLC (doing business as Biggs) at 555 State Highway 29 to permit the sale of alcoholic beverages and other retail uses authorized under the city's zoning code.
Staff explained the action is required when a business changes name or ownership and that the applicant must still obtain a liquor license from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). As one staff member explained, “they're getting a new, liquor license through TABC,” and council moved to adopt the ordinance. The motion to approve was seconded and declared passed by the chair.
No members of the public spoke during the public hearing on the application; the council closed the hearing shortly after opening it and proceeded to the ordinance vote.
