Participants described practical goals for the retreat, including clearer messaging for staff during the summer and a sustained focus on staff development. One meeting participant said, "In order to be a champion, you gotta prepare them," and another framed leadership as ongoing improvement: "If we wanna improve from day to day, we're never gonna reach the pinnacle, because there's always gonna be something higher." The retreat organizers said they intend for the relationships and lessons built at the event to be carried back into school hallways and classrooms so students and teachers see the effects in day-to-day work.
