Board authorizes intermunicipal agreement with Monroe County for law enforcement services

The Village Board moved to enter into an intermunicipal agreement with Monroe County to provide law enforcement services in Fairport. Staff said the arrangement continues existing sheriff involvement and that the draft agreement is pending review by the county legislature.
"It doesn't discontinue anything that's going on. It's just a formality that has to happen," staff said, noting the village has requested the draft agreement and will review it when received. The board approved the motion unanimously.
No contract draft was distributed at the Aug. 10 meeting; staff said they will forward the county's draft to village staff for review before legislative approval.
