Lead service line replacements behind schedule; paving and concrete restorations to finish before parade

City Administrator Laura Wacker told the council the lead service line replacement project is running a few days behind schedule but that pavement and concrete restoration are expected to be completed within the next couple of weeks and before the city parade. Wacker also provided an update on the proposed Veterans Memorial conceptual layout being advanced by the Walking Wings committee and asked the council how far east into the skating rink area the memorial could extend.
Wacker listed upcoming community events — Rock Roll and Stroll (August 6), Walkin Wings (August 29), and Pierz Oktoberfest (August 30) — and reminded residents that the candidate filing deadline is tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
