At the Chair's Breakfast, a school committee member referred to a range of Concord Public Schools projects. He said the committee authorized hiring Doren Witter as the owner's project manager for an MCI-adjacent project and flagged the CMS solar project site agreement under review.
On transportation, the member reported the district is finalizing a 10-year lease with Highland Fleet Solutions for two electric buses and said "Highland's going to install the charging infrastructure at no cost to us and covers the maintenance for life, of the lease." He added legal counsel is reviewing the final contract documents. On the Thoreau playground Phase 2, a rebid came in within budget and construction has begun and is expected to continue into early fall.
The committee also said bargaining with Concord ESPs will resume this fall, and a CCTA agreement is a major item on the bargaining agenda. The Climate and Culture Working Group will present a data and tracking framework (Panorama, YRBS, Metro surveys, bias reporting) to the school committee three times a year.
