Shakespeare in the Park set for Aug. 12; Path to Prevention run on Aug. 23

Mayor Porter said the final Shakespeare in the Park performance this season will be Macbeth on August 12 at the Nature Park Amphitheater, with performances starting at 7:00 PM and lasting roughly 60–75 minutes. He said the Grassroots Shakespeare Company is presenting the shows in original-practice style and recommended the performance for teens and adults.
Porter also promoted the Communities That Care Path to Prevention 5K and 0.5 marathon set for Saturday morning, August 23. Registration is open at runforprevention.org and the mayor said he will be at the finish line to hand out medals.
