The Farmington Hills City Council voted to authorize forwarding a resolution to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission supporting a requested transfer of a 2026 Class C liquor license with Sunday sales (AM/PM), a dance-entertainment permit and outdoor service for a proposed full-service restaurant at 31130 Orchard Lake Road.
Brandon Cass, the applicant's attorney, told council the operator runs a popular Sterling Heights location and described the Farmington Hills project as an “upscale Middle Eastern restaurant.” Owner Vlad Yousef said, “We are upscaling this restaurant, and, to serve the community,” and told council the team is targeting a May 2027 opening. The application was routed to city departments and staff reported no objections.
Councilmember Dwyer moved the resolution and members supported the motion in a roll-call vote. The city will forward its approval recommendation to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, which has final authority over liquor-license transfers and permits. The council did not set a local condition or limitation beyond the permit list included in the application packet.
What happens next: The council's action sends a recommendation; the Liquor Control Commission will review the transfer application and supporting materials from the applicant and city departments.
