County to apply for $158,818 in TCIP funds to add destination lighting at seven intersections

County engineering asked the board to approve a Fiscal Year 2028 Transportation Capital Improvement Program (TCIP) application seeking destination lighting at seven paved-route intersections.
Jaden Shepherd told the board the submission lists seven intersections and said, “That application is for a $158,818.” Shepherd and supervisors discussed that two of the seven intersections lack nearby primary electrical service, which would increase installation costs if lines must be extended.
Supervisors approved submitting the application so the county can be considered for awards; engineering noted that prior experience with destination lighting has helped the county refine bid items and reduce risks associated with state funding requirements and small-business participation checklists.
