Committee approves Thoreau Elementary athletic fields redesign and reallocation of CPC funds

The committee reviewed a request from the Concord Public Schools to shift elements of previously approved CPC funding for the Thoreau Elementary athletic fields after the school secured additional private funds. Anne (CPC staff) told the committee the school submitted an interim status report and that staff had reviewed the original CPC application and found the revised uses were within the broadly described scope for open space and recreation.
Andrew Boardman moved to approve the school department’s request; Edward Larner seconded. Chair Diana Proctor recorded the roll-call vote and noted that Boardman recused because he has a child at Thoreau School. The chair announced the request was approved; the motion passed with one recusal. "I’ll make a motion to approve the school department's request to spend CPC funds," the mover said during the meeting.
