Public-works director Mark Gordon presented multiple contractor quotes and the court approved several work orders during the Aug. 10 session.
Gordon said the proposed fence for Allen Springs — same style as the recently installed front fence — was estimated at about $23,391 from Elite Agronomics and recommended awarding the work to the firm that completed the front portion. The court voted to approve the fence quote.
Gordon also presented two Wiley Electric quotes: one to bring the electric service underground and install a new service and breaker box and another to wire interior outlets, welders and equipment. The court voted separately to approve the new underground service (the higher-level service work) and the $36,008.81 interior wiring quote. Gordon explained the new breaker box will be labeled to make maintenance easier.
Finally, Gordon presented three bids for water and sewer taps to serve a county office and the recycling/brick room; he recommended awarding to Commonwealth County (combined quote about $11,300 for water/sewer line as presented among bids) and the court approved that recommendation. Gordon said the building shell is framed and inspections for rough-in work are complete; HVAC installation is permitted and expected soon.
