The Hardin County Commissioners Court on Tuesday accepted the county treasurer's request to cancel registered claims from July 28, 2026, and approved the treasurer's quarterly cash report.
Handy Smith, identified in the meeting packet as county treasurer, reported the county's cash balances as of Aug. 6: "the general checking account had 311 853 dollars and 64 cents," a 1st Financial special money market of $27,491,785.68 and a tax-pool general account of $377,946.83 for a total cash balance of $28,181,586.15. Smith also reported quarter‑end balances for 06/30/2026 and noted ARPA funds totaling $2,442,057.16. The court moved and approved acceptance of the report and related voucher cancellations.
