The Smithville City Council approved a group of land and planning measures, voting unanimously on multiple bills that annexed adjacent territory and approved final plats.
Bill 3093 (voluntary annexation for 1505 East Main Street) passed on second reading after a roll call vote that registered a 6-0 approval. Miss Wagner read the ordinance language annexing the property into the city.
The council likewise approved bill 3094 (voluntary annexation, Spring Creek Farms phase 3) and moved forward on bill 3095, which approved the final plat for Clay Creek Meadows (first and second readings occurred at the meeting with unanimous votes). These items were processed with motions, seconds and roll-call approvals.
Why it matters: Annexations and final plat approvals change municipal boundaries and create the legal framework for future development and service provision in the newly annexed areas.
