Chief Manley reported the results of a site check on North Sycamore (north of Mormon Street between Harrison and Cunningham), saying he observed multiple children in the area and limited sight lines that raise safety concerns. He recommended continuing the no‑parking restriction on the east side between Harrison and Cunningham and installing caution signs to alert drivers to children in the area; the Chair asked for resident notification and a follow-up inspection. "There's definitely an issue there," Chief Manley said of the visibility problems, and he recommended continuing the no parking on the east side and adding caution signs.
Board members acknowledged the social impact of adding signage across many neighborhoods but agreed a targeted restriction and signage at this location was appropriate; the Chair moved to have staff and the chief review the area and bring the item back at the next meeting. The board carried the motion and scheduled a follow-up report, directing a site visit before the Aug. 24 meeting.
