Brackett ISD reviews district and campus improvement plans and ACE program outcomes

District administrators presented the January formative review of the District Improvement Plan (DIP) and Campus Improvement Plans (CIPs), highlighting growth in several strategies since November and progress targets for the year.

"For example, in strategy 1, for goal 1, implementing planning protocol ... in November, I would say we were about halfway there," said Agency official (S4), describing teachers' uptake of a new planning platform and progress that should reach about 80 percent by the end of the review period. S4 said some strategies already show 100 percent completion where tasks (for example, career and military day) are complete.

On the ACE (after‑school academic and enrichment) grant, S4 outlined program objectives (academic instruction plus enrichment—music, athletics, arts) and explained measurement tools such as MClass and STAR benchmarks and required progress monitoring tied to grant reporting. Trustees asked whether the district can report aggregate improvements for the program; S4 said the grant requires student-level baselines and end-of-program reporting (summer), and that district staff can provide aggregated summaries but did not have those percentages at the meeting.

"We're required by the grant to to do that," S4 said of progress monitoring and reporting. Trustees noted this is year two of a five-year grant and discussed possible aggregate measures (numerator/denominator reporting) to demonstrate program effectiveness to funders.

No board action was required for the DIP/CIP information item; administrators offered to provide additional data to trustees on aggregate outcomes.
