District staff and trustees acknowledged student achievements at local UYL/UIL competitions, naming numerous individual and team winners across elementary and junior high divisions.
"We are recognizing our UYL winners, from elementary through junior high," said the presenter (S4), who listed winners including Miles Edwards (calculator), Drew Dillon (maps/charts/graphs), and Joaquin Corona (elementary social studies), and noted Jones Elementary and Brackett Junior High placed second overall as teams. Staff emphasized the breadth of events—math, social studies, spelling, writing and oral reading—and thanked parents and coaches for their support.
Board members and administrators highlighted the amount of practice students committed to and the role of the school's UIL program. The recognition portion included calls for applause and short remarks of appreciation; no formal action was required.
