Members suggest touring Hatfield Marine Science Center to see resilient shelter designs

"On that tour, they will tell you about that building... In there, they have enough, supplies for 9 people, I believe, for a week," the Chair said, noting the rooftop cache and elevator access. Members described the Center's designs as expensive but a proof-of-concept that could be scaled for smaller community shelters.
The committee agreed to explore a tour and possibly invite county partners to discuss what could be adapted locally for Depoe Bay neighborhoods, particularly for sheltering people with respiratory or mobility needs during events that degrade air quality or access.
