A committee member reported conversations with several shop owners in Depoe Bay's commercial area who expressed interest in participating in preparedness planning and possibly attending a focused meeting for businesses.
"She knows the so there that area where all the commercial is is a mixture of, people that a lot of California kind of owners that have shops here. And then there are some that are locals... they both are interested in working with us to get the local owners... and they would be happy to be a part of helping us put that through together," the Committee member said, describing store owners' willingness to engage.
Members discussed inviting business owners for an after-hours meeting so attendance does not conflict with store hours, and said providing maps, signage templates and guidance on a 'go bag' for staff/customers could help businesses prepare. They agreed to time outreach to when printed maps and materials are available.
