Trustees approve summer concerts, DeSantis Orchestra and Skaneateles Cares car show

The Village Board approved multiple community events on Feb. 12, including a gazebo performance by the DeSantis Orchestra, the Chamber of Commerce's 2026 events calendar, weekly Community Band concerts and the Skaneateles Cares Car Club annual show.
On a 4-0 vote, trustees approved Maria DeSantis’ request for an orchestra performance at the gazebo on Aug. 16 (Res. #2026-21) and accepted the Chamber's calendar (Res. #2026-22). The board also approved the Community Band’s request to hold Friday concerts from July 3 through Aug. 28, 2026, and to provide a school bus for transportation and weekly gazebo setup (Res. #2026-23).
Sue Dove, representing the car show, told the board the Skaneateles Cares Car Club has "met their goal to raise $250,000 to pay for the Golisano Children’s Hospital playground" and said the club plans to help other area hospitals. The board approved the car show for Aug. 8 with an Aug. 15 rain date (Res. #2026-24).
These approvals were routine and unanimous; the minutes record no conditions attached to the event permits in the motions as presented.
