The commission voted unanimously to recommend a special exception to the UDC sign regulations to allow Chalk and Steel Co. to install two attached wall signs on the front elevation of their lease space at 761 Keller Parkway.
Staff (Mr. Flanders) said both proposed signs would meet size limits if treated independently and that the combined area remains within the maximum square footage allowed for a single lease space. Applicant Jonna Perrin said the signs will include digitally printed vinyl graphics and an aluminum backer panel and that the manufacturer provides a 10‑year warranty. "We are being given a 10 year warranty on the entirety of these signs," Perrin said. Commissioners said the presentation showed the signage would be aesthetically appropriate and that the UDC’s list of example materials did not preclude materials not listed; the motion to recommend approval passed 5‑0 and will be forwarded to City Council Sept. 1.
