Kaufman ISD honors students of the month and 2025 Educators of the Year

At its Feb. 10 meeting Kaufman ISD recognized School Board Students of the Month and named the 2025 Mary Edith Ashworth Educators of the Year across district campuses, presenting certificates and a plaque crafted by the high school welding class.
Kaufman ISD used its Feb. 10 meeting to spotlight student achievement and honor educators. Jenny Henricks recognized School Board Students of the Month from each campus; Taylor Bernhagen, principal at J. W. Monday Elementary School, highlighted programs at Monday Elementary including LION Leaders, the Safety Patrol and Robotics.
The board also presented the 2025 "Mary Edith Ashworth Educators of the Year" awards with a certificate and a special plaque designed by the high school welding class. Teachers named were: Katie Dodson (Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center), Angela Whiteman (Monday Elementary School), Crystal Tischler (Nash Elementary School), Julie Berry (Phillips Elementary School), Charlie White (O.P. Norman Junior High School), Sonia Burleson (Kaufman High School), and Terry Mason (Gary Campbell High School).
