Board member urges planning for Micron-driven enrollment growth

Tom told the board that Micron's arrival — even at a reduced scale — could be among the largest industrial developments in the Northeast and said the district should prepare for notable enrollment and community changes within the next several years.
"Even if it comes out and only does 25% of the scale that they're talking about, it will be the largest, industrial movement that has happened in the Northeast, and it will significantly impact this community," Tom said, urging board members to study nearby districts and plan for shifts in housing, facilities and services. The board discussed a planned October visit to observe how another district is handling a large enrollment increase and micro-credential pathways.
