The Village of Sodus Point Zoning Board on Jan. 14 approved an amended special permit allowing a dock for Anthony Elwood at 8538 Gardenier Lane. Chair Tom Johns moved to accept the amended configuration; the motion passed unanimously with board members Lynn Carlyle and Sue Bassage joining the aye votes.
Elwood said he provided a revised document to the Code Enforcement Officer showing a 60-foot plan and that neighbors had requested closer adherence to village guidelines. The board discussed technical points — including whether the dock should be T-shaped (code 86.23 recommends T-shaped docks), platform size, and boat-hoist compatibility — and CEO Kevin Druschel said permanent dock installers had advised bubblers were not required. Elwood also stated he obtained approvals from the Army Corps of Engineers and the DEC. The approved amendment described by the chair would place a 10-by-12-foot platform and a dock layout measured at 48 feet in primary length (Tom Johns said the total length, including platform depth, would be 64 feet); all three members voted aye.
