Council approves $14,732.50 to install equipment in patrol vehicles for EVP project

Engineering staff told the council the EVP project equipment has been installed on traffic-signal catenaries and programming is in progress; testing will include a unit placed in a department vehicle.
Engineering said a quote from Federal Signal Corporation to install equipment in patrol vehicles would cost $14,732.50 to outfit the required vehicles. "So this would be for $14,732.50," engineering staff said during the presentation. The council moved, seconded and approved the expenditure by voice vote.
Engineering noted vehicle installs are not included in the original project scope and staff will reconcile how the work and cost integrate with the ongoing project schedule.
