Kinney County Historical Commission: 21 properties approved for tax break; board to transmit report

Becky Moore, representing the Kinney County historical commission, presented the 2025 annual review and assessment of recorded Texas historic landmark properties and asked trustees to approve the commission's report for submission to the county appraisal office.
Moore summarized the results: "21 passed, which means they're gonna get 25% off their property taxes. And 2 received the 1st grade, so they're gonna get 20%. 4 properties received the 2nd grade, which means 10%. And 5 properties did not pass." She asked the board to approve the report; the commission had presented the same report to county commissioners earlier and, once approved by the board, Moore said she would turn the report over to the appraisal office the next day so they could apply the rates to qualifying properties.
A trustee moved to approve the 2025 annual assessment as presented, a second was offered and the board voted to adopt the commission's recommendation during the meeting.
