City Manager Darin DeHaan told the Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee on Sept. 9 that the draft sustainability plan should identify funding and revenue sources because implementation will depend on outside funding. DeHaan said projects in the plan will be pursued as funding becomes available rather than through guaranteed city funding.
Committee member Vic Zaderej emphasized some projects will not require formal funding but will depend on volunteer labor to complete. Member Steve Rypkema also reported he had submitted edits to the draft for Lauren Kleve to incorporate; the group discussed maintaining an online resources page so the plan and related documents can be updated as new funding or volunteer opportunities emerge.
